Safety Net Solutions is hosting a lunch and learn webinar on Risk Management and Prevention within the FQHC Dental Program.  1 CE Credit is available.  Risk management is the identification, assessment, and prioritization of risks and the application of resources to minimize, monitor, and control the probability or impact of adverse effects. This webinar will specify information needed by providers, leaders, and staff to minimize risks for their oral health programs and identify steps that can be taken if an error occurs. It will include information on Caries Risk Assessments, CAMBRA Protocol Active Surveillance Components of Risk, Ethical Practices, Reducing Malpractice Risk and Joint Commission Protocols. You will also hear about the top 10 potential risk areas for Health Center oral health programs and the 15 types of errors in record keeping.

Instructor

Bob Russell, DDS, MPH, CPM, Dental Director and Bureau Chief, Oral & Health Delivery Systems, Division of Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention/Iowa Department of of Public Health received his dental training at Loyola University of Chicago School of Dentistry and public health training at the University of Michigan, School of Public Health. Dr. Russell published a dental training manual for FQHCs, and he developed a statewide care coordination and promotions campaign in preparing dental hygienists to increase access to oral health care and prevention for Medicaid and uninsured children. Dr. Russell is also an associate member of the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors, and he has served on the Board of Directors for the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors, the National Network for Oral Health Access, the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation, and the HHS Advisory Committee on Training in Primary Care Medicine.
